Officer Rafael Perez is infamous for prompting the largest police scandal to ever hit the city of Los Angeles.

Perez and fellow officers of the anti-gang unit, CRASH waged a campaign of terror that ranged from falsifying information to planting evidence, trafficking drugs and covering up police shootings, to beating suspects and illegally deporting suspected gang members and anti-police witnesses.

Now, twenty officers have been relieved of duty while scores more are under investigation and the city is inundated with civil lawsuits that threaten to bankrupt the second largest city in America.
